Oikawa really did not want to call him. He really did not.
But what was he supposed to do? His flight was delayed turning what was supposed to be a quick stop into a 28-hour layover, in Poland no less.
Who else did he know in Poland other than.... Ushijima Wakatoshi?
With a groan, Oikawa gave in to the inevitable. He scrolled through his contacts, hesitating when he found the name he was looking for.
Ushiwaka.
Or an AU where Oikawa's flight gets delayed and he has to spend 28 hours in Poland, he has no choice but to call Ushijima who seemed to be a little too thrilled with the prospect of reconnecting with his old rival.

Upon arriving at university, Ushijima Wakatoshi resigns himself to life without his team behind him, starting back at square one as just another first year in his new team, leaving his reserved family miles away, and giving up waiting for his father to reach out to him. He even tries to get past Oikawa and the possibility of ever befriending his prideful rival.
He's an adult now and it's time to be realistic and let those hopes fade away.And then Oikawa Tooru walks into his university's gymnasium.
Or, Ushijima and Tooru learn to exist together as teammates, friends, and a secret third thing :)

Ushijima has learned to live with the fact that he doesn't have the ability to read faces, attractive or not. But there's something about Tendou's that he can't put his finger on. He simply cannot get the drawing right.
