Summary
When Steve opened his eyes properly to look at his apparent savior, he was met with the sight of a man crouched in front of him. He looked concerned, his brow pinched in worry. He had dark eyes which were darting around Steve’s face. Steve reached out weakly and gripped the man’s rough shirt in his hand, barely holding on. Steve nodded his head weakly in response to the man’s question.
The man smiled, reaching up with his other hand to grip Steve’s where it was clutched in his shirt. He gave it the same comforting squeeze he had given to Steve’s neck, “Alright sweetheart, I’ll get you out of here. Not sure you’ll remember this on account of the severe head wound, but my name’s Eddie.” With that, Eddie shuffled to his side slightly, putting one arm around Steve’s back and the other underneath his legs, “Up we go!”
Steve let out a small whimper as Eddie lifted him bodily and pulled him against his chest in a princess carry. Oh, the irony.

Summary
"There's something in the corner of the room."
A chill went down Eddie's spine, despite not processing what Steve had said straight away. Once his brain had parsed what Steve had said, he naturally started to try and look over his own shoulder to see what Steve was talking about.
Before he could move more than an inch, Steve's free hand shot out and grasped him tightly by the neck. Eddie froze for a second before shifting a small fraction, looking back at Steve's face. He still wasn't looking at Eddie.

"Well, you should know, you slothful thing," Aziraphale said indulgently, hoping Crowley could hear the silent pleas of Kiss me good night, come here, embrace me, hold me close. He could do it himself, he supposed, but every time he tried to imagine it, the kiss was awkward, clumsy, awful. He wasn't the tempter. He shouldn't have to make the first move when there was an actual demon there, for Heaven's sake.
Unless the demon didn't want to in the first place.
