“Silly,” another girl in the class interjected, giggling. “That’s not how crushes work. You just think they’re cute, and it happens. It’s funny how naïve you are with some stuff! We’re almost out of middle school already.”

It started out as a club of ten, composed of five old ladies, two middle-aged women, one mid-20s married couple, and one Jason Peter Todd. The married couple had a fight during the first meeting, didn't talk during the second, and then never came again. One of the old ladies broke her hip and didn't return, either. That left the old lady quartet, the possible lesbian couple, and Jason to meet every Friday night, discussing the book of the month.
He loved it.
Jason joins a book club. This leads to more drama than expected.
