Summary
The silence stretches again. Garcia doesn’t move to leave. Baran isn’t sure whether she has more to say or if she doesn’t want to leave Trinity quite yet. Neither option is appealing to Baran.
“Did you know? About us?”
“I suspected,” Garcia admits, sees the half-mortified look on Baran’s face and continues. “She gets soft around you. Not in her words or her body. But something just relaxes a little. No one else sees it.”
“You do,” Baran says quietly.
“Well, I have practice seeing Trinity.” Again, it stings. Garcia looks away. Baran looks away.

“When will I see you next?”
“Saturday,” Yolanda straightens, “on Rod Laver.”
“No pre-match good luck kiss?”
“You’d be so lucky.” Garcia walks to the door and grasps the handle for a second before turning on her heel. “Meet me in the players' lounge ten minutes before we leave for walkouts.”

Summary
Trinity was used to being alone now. It had taken a few months, almost a year really, but she finally settled into a rhythm. It's difficult when you spend your whole life with someone, always there to guide you and support you, and then they just leave. No one teaches you how to cope with that—not unless you're willing to pay a $150 copay for it.
The app on her phone said she successfully made it 413 calendar days without cutting herself. Good for her. That was when she invited Dennis, the little weasel himself, to live with her, occupying the space that she had just gotten used to being empty.
