It wasn’t difficult to piece together.
Jiwook was a boy. Haewon’s always known.
Even back when everyone still called him Jiwoo.
“You know,” he continued eventually, voice thinner now, “sometimes I think I’d feel better if I looked more like…” He trailed off awkwardly.
“A boy?” Haewon finished for him.
Silence.
Jiwook froze completely beside her. Haewon watched as he swallowed and looked down.
“…maybe.”
Because while Jiwook spent years trying to figure himself out, Haewon can’t remember ever seeing him as anything else.

Summary
Miyeon wakes sometime in the middle of the night because he’s cold.
Not fully cold—Shuhua is practically wrapped around him, limbs tangled carelessly through the blankets, her forehead pressed against the slope of his shoulder. Arms looped around his waist from when she fell asleep midway through trying to keep him from escaping to the bathroom. (He's definitly getting a UTI soon.) Her warmth bleeds into him easily.
And despite the fact she’s basically functioning as a personal heater right now, his head is cold.He lifts a hand carefully, fingers threading through the short strands at the back of his head. It still surprises him.
Beside him, Shuhua shifts in her sleep.
Miyeon looks down at her for a moment.
There’s something almost unfair about being loved by someone who looks at him the way Shuhua does.
Or maybe looked.
A haircut is all it takes, sometimes.

It’s not just that Jiwoo is cute. Honestly, she thinks that would be manageable. People are cute all the time, and Yoona has never felt this strange, tight pressure in her chest because of it. She’s never had to look away, or press her lips together, or curl her hands into her sleeves just to keep herself still.
And yet, Jiwoo is—too much.
It’s not about hurting. If anything, it’s the opposite of that. It’s something instinctive, rooted in the same place as the urge to squeeze too tight. A way to contain the feeling when it gets too big and too difficult to express in words that always feel insufficient.
That sometimes Jiwoo looks at her and Yoona feels like she might overflow? That the affection she keeps turns messy and uncontained the second Jiwoo smiles at her like that. That there’s a part of her that wants to leave some kind of mark—not visible, something that would imply this is mine.
