Sam convinces Nick that they should roleplay as Lucifer for each other as a grief therapy exercise. Something he can't admit needing to anyone else. Problem is lines get blurred very quickly between vessel, memory, grief and Lucifer's presence. Letting go can be very hard. If things don't work as Sam imagined, well that is a risk one takes when dealing with Lucifer.

As Deborah, she could be ruining her own life. It was a violation of both her wedding vows and the FBI Ethics and Integrity Policy Program Directive. It may well benefit the case- she's thought about it, a little private joke, by eating the target's pussy, the UCO ingratiated herself with her, making herself more trustworthy, and made it more likely she would receive high-level intel- but obviously this thing they've got going on is more likely to destroy the op, and her career, and her marriage.
