    “Mu Qing,” he said, voice rough with sleep and something else, fear. “You’re awake.”
    Dark eyes opened wider, fixing on him with surprise. “...Feng Xin?” His voice carried both bewilderment and suspicion. “What am I doing here?”
    He tried to sit, too quickly for his weakened state, and swayed unsteadily. Feng Xin reached out on instinct, only for Mu Qing to jerk back from his touch, confusion sharpening to alarm.
    “Don’t,” Mu Qing snapped. “Why are you so close? What is this place?”

    // Or, Mu Qing is poisoned by a venomous serpent ghost and loses his memory from the past eight hundred years, believing he's still in the Xian Le era. This triggers a series of situations and confessions.
