He looked like some kind of young academic with a battered briefcase and a brown leather satchel stowed neatly under the seat in front of him. And he was sexy in a scary way–like he was the type to scold someone while holding a very long ruler.

It was just that Remus–Moony– was so tall. But why was that relevant? Trying to sift through it in this heat felt like trying to paddle through a swamp, and his oar getting stuck in the thick muddy water and then a vindictive alligator coming out of nowhere and taking a massive bite out of it and he could hardly see for the Spanish moss hanging all over the place. He shoved his shag out of his eyes but it helped only marginally.

Summary
After leaving Hogwarts, Remus and Sirius make it one year until their relationship crashes and burns. In June 1981, they are the only two Order members pulled from field missions.
The Order of the Phoenix is falling apart from the lack of childcare, Dumbledore and McGonagall have two unemployed graduates in mind, and Remus and Sirius despise the idea.
Until they don’t. Because how can they really hate each other when there are six kids running around expecting them to get along?***
“It’s so lovely that you two volunteered to watch the children.” Molly beamed at them. “You don't know how much this means to all of us.”
“Well, we are excited,” Sirius choked out, elbowing Remus. “Right?”
Molly turned around, and Sirius worried that if she smiled any more her face really might split. “I always say, the best way to strengthen a relationship is just to have a bunch of kids and raise them together.”
Sirius’ eye twitched and he could feel Remus beside him actively trying to avoid eye contact.
“Thanks for the advice, Molly,” Remus said weakly.

Potions: love it or love to hate it, Sirius Black is a sap with an entire Christmas break to brush up on skills he needs to sharpen. If, along the way, he sweeps his favorite prefect ever further off his feet, he won’t complain about it.
