"Are you guys dating?" Dustin blurts out. Mike and Will's heads snap to him, shared panicked expressions on their faces.
"Um, I—we, uh—"
"Why—why do you think that?" Will chokes out.
"Well, let's look at the evidence," Lucas holds up his hand and points to a finger when he says each Thing. "You kiss each other all the time, Will's been sitting on your lap every single time we hang out—"
"Wh—I—It's not every time." Mike argues weakly.
"We heard you call Will 'baby'," Will squeaks and avoids eye contact when Mike looks over at him. "And now you guys are going to sleep together. In the same bed. And you say it's normal."
"You gotta see it from our perspective, dude." Dustin adds once Lucas puts his hand down. Mike opens and closes his mouth a few times, looking like a fucking fish out of water. He kinda feels like one, too. Beside him, Will isn't much better. His face is fully red now, and he's just standing there, mouth open, like he'd just been busted for a crime.

Will Byers doesn't remember how, when or why; but he finds himself drowning in the Lover's Lake. He knows he should be dead, he remembers the pain and hopelessnes of dying vividly, so he is rightfully very confused when he sees Mike Wheeler there when he opens his eyes. Why does he wake up somewhere far away from Hawkins, and why are they all dressed the way their DnD characters are?

There was something in the way Mike spoke, in the way his gaze bored into Will’s skull as if he could read every thought and feeling buried inside, that made the line between reality and fantasy begin to blur.
For a moment, it no longer felt like it was Sir Mike speaking to Lady Wilma.

In the wake of Eddie's death, Dustin decides to step into his shoes and DM a DnD campaign for the party. Will decides to mix things up by playing a female character, and what starts as roleplay slowly becomes something much harder to ignore.
