Summary
You came as foster child of my fathers. You came as an orphan, rights and names stripped from you by your father himself. The servants had told me that you had killed a man. They said that you killed him in cold blood because he took your toys.
You scuffed your feet, and the sound made me realise that I was not alone anymore. I looked at you and you saw me.
You looked younger than me, even though our age was the same. That must have been due to my mother’s blood, which was mixed with mine. You were beautiful in a way that others were not. The deep, endless dark of your eyes, the swirls of your curls as they fell into your eyes, the defiant way you held your body. Part of your beauty lay in the fact that you plainly did not know how beautiful you were. There was something in your eyes that I could not decipher. It was a sparkle of wild feelings, which burned in your insides.I yawned; I had not slept since the night before. I was tired from training, speaking with my mother and not feeling like I was living in my own skin. “What is your name?”
“Patroclus,” you said.
This is a retelling of The Song of Achilles from Achilles' POV

Bookmarker's Notes
im gonna write my comment:
This fic made me cry as much as the actual book did, which was, needless to say, quite a bit.
i enjoyed achilles’s perspective, because it made sense. well, that is, in the sense that achilles is prideful and divine born, and that is how you have written him.
then i enjoyed achilles’s perspective on patroclus specifically. how it made it seem like patroclus had put himself down in his retelling, that he wasn't any less of a man at all. i have always disliked the twinky feel of patroclus in tsoa, and i didn't get much of that in this at all, certainly without diminishing the fundamentals of his character.
i really liked the relationship between achilles and thetis too. she is still his mother, regardless of everything.
i loathed achilles when he was willing to condemn briseis to the fate of rape when he himself was a victim. it really went to show that he wasnt an empathetic person at heart, and i liked that it was always clear where his loyalites lay, because he was never much of a liar, in any adaptation.
and i loved the consistent repetition of the simple fact that patroclus is smart, quite smart, smarter than achilles at times, because the biggest show of his intelligence came from the way he tricked achilles into the peace, enough to let him go to his death without much thought.
and i am in awe of you, you who poured this much time and effort and love into a fic that gave me approximately three point five hours of reading time in the middle of the night.
thats basically what i felt reading this UTTER MASTERPIECE

Summary
Somehow, by every cruelty of the gods, Automedon ‘accidentally’ told Achilles about Antilochus’ little fancy. The prince of Pylos still did not believe his friend’s words were entirely truthful, but his tone held enough remorse that Antilochus could consider forgiving him for his alleged slip up.
Either way, that is how Antilochus ended up spending his evening pacing his tent like a caged animal.
Or
Antilochus gets invited to Achilles and Patroclus' tent for a night, things go quite well for him all in all.
