They lay like this in silence for a while, the room slowly heating up with the morning sun. Dongmin’s eyes are still shut tight in a sort of grumpy frown, sleep still etched deep on his face, and Donghyun just stares at him, mystified.
Then Dongmin opens his mouth, and the pretty image shatters. “Fuuuuck.”
Donghyun can’t help it, his little fit of giggles. Dongmin glares at him like the little pissy shit he is, but he's also grinning by this point.
It’s alright. It’s fine. Dongmin is a lightweight who can’t handle alcohol but decides to shitface himself at the worst moments anyway, and Donghyun is just the unfortunate soul who has to deal with his no-good, very bad drinking habits. It comes with the package. And if one of them includes kissing people, then, like. Okay. Fine. Whatever! Donghyun yells into the abyss of his consciousness, as loudly as he can, I can deal with that!
He will find a way to deal with that. Probably.
(OR: 5 times Dongmin kisses Donghyun. 1 time Donghyun understands why.)

Summary
Taesan looks back at Leehan, at the jacket across his lap and at the faint scale-imprints that trace down his legs. Everything about his posture seems indifferent to the fact that his life is about to end. His days are numbered to twenty nine, but the merman in front of him doesn’t seem to care at all. Taesan can’t help but ask.
“And…you’re not scared?”
Leehan actually thinks about the question genuinely. He turns back towards Taesan, then at the sea in front of him, like he’s trying to gesture at a feeling or something too grand and inexplicable for a human like Taesan to understand.
“No,” he says finally. “Twenty-two years is a complete life for us. I’ve seen everything I was supposed to have seen. I just haven’t seen this part of life yet.”
OR: Taesan, a coastal guard, finds a merman washed up on shore, with only twenty-nine days left to live and a dream of knowing what life is like as a human, so Taesan decides to show him around. Unfortunately, one lunar cycle is both exactly enough and nowhere near enough.

Summary
Donghyun didn’t think about his actions, he didn’t have to. His body remembered the pace Dongmin always used to set. The tilt of his head, the way his fingers found the edge of Dongmin’s shirt, the slight tremor that ran through him when Dongmin’s hand came up to his jaw, every single second of it was instinctive. A mindless reflex.
There was so much to make up for.
Or: After an accident, amnesiac Donghyun invites his boss, Han Dongmin, to a family wedding as his fake date. Things complicate for Dongmin when he has to hide that he and Donghyun were romantically involved. But he's doing it for Donghyun's sake. Right?
