neither side realizes that jimin and minjeong have already crossed a line far more dangerous than international competition.
now they only have to survive the world cup, each other, and the growing possibility that winning may no longer be the thing they want most.

Summary
Minjeong has an obsession.
Her holy grail — ever since she committed the technical basics to muscle memory — is to row for varsity in the esteemed stroke seat. The current stroke stands in her way: benefactor's daughter, national team prospect, Olympian born and bred, God's favourite, permanent fixture of her thoughts, most beautiful woman alive, whatever.
Kim Minjeong hates, and she envies, and she wants. In this brutal cycle, a realization: Yu Jimin might just be the reason for her existence as much as she is the bane of it.

Summary
Cassie revealed herself to be incapable of genuine friendship. Kat and her only spoke on occasion, usually to fill an awkward silence or to pry U.S. History homework from one another. Then, of course, the Jules and Elliot of it all. Lexi may actually be her last friend standing.
Oh, and Maddy. They were friends.
Friends-ish.
Whatever. Friendly, then. Despite the fact that Rue didn’t check in on her after the play, and the fact that she waited until it was convenient for her to drop the bomb about Nate and Cassie, and the fact that she wasn’t even sure Maddy had the same cell phone number.
Some fucking friend.
or:
after graduation, Rue and Maddy find themselves orbiting each other. incident becomes intention. friendship slips into more. a fun little exploration of a dynamic we were and will probably continue to be robbed of.

Summary
A fragile quiet falls between them. The clock on the wall ticks like a metronome, counting down to a deadline neither of them are aware of yet. This becomes the soundtrack to Minjeong’s first confession, the one she’ll regret the most years later. The one she can’t take back. The promise that becomes a death knell.
“I want to debut with you too,” Minjeong whispers. “Promise we’ll debut together?”
The debut plans for aespa fall through at the last minute. Minjeong leaves; Jimin doesn’t. Jimin never really forgives her for that.
