    Izuku chases after Kacchan, stays right on his heels as they both sprint through the gate and into the mock city.

    “K-Kacchan,” Izuku calls out to his teammate. “W-We need to make a plan or something. It’s All Might so maybe we should just run ‘cause th-there’s no way we can fight him. It’s All Might.”

    The hit to the face isn’t a surprise really.

    A part of Izuku was even expecting it.

    Was waiting to feel that familiar burning crackle against his skin, the long familiar scent of burnt caramel flooding his senses as pain ripples out across his face like spider web fractures in a foundation.

    What is a surprise is the way that something in his mind just...

    Shatters.

    Izuku heaved in an anxious breath, focusing on putting one foot in front of the other. The heavy snow crunched under his boot-clad feet as he carried the young Todoroki along, pushing past the weariness in his limbs. The snow was thick here, almost three feet deep, which made it near-impossible to traverse quickly, and the pain that shot up his left leg every time he put weight on it only made it harder to commit each time.

    He was tiring out.

    "T-todoroki-kun.." Izuku muttered through chattering teeth. "C-can you hear me? We've got to find shelter… A-are you awake?"

    There was no response besides the repetitive hot breaths on his cheek, and the low whistling of wind as the snow picked up.

    The first mark Izuku gets is a slight brush of green across his temple. It’s the soft touch of a mother holding her son for the first time. Inko has one to match, the same shade of green staining the tips of her fingers. Hers is more noticeable; Izuku’s tends to blend into his hairline.
    He loves it anyways. He has to. It’s the only soulmate mark he has.
