Alternate universe: the world is colorless until you hear your soulmate laughing at your joke.
Eddie Kaspbrak knows he’s not funny.
He’s known it since childhood when he couldn’t even make his best friend laugh at a single joke of his. Yeah, of course, other Losers sometimes would laugh to tears after most successful jokes of Eddie. However, he felt it was more of a pity laugh rather than anything real.
Why did he think so anyway? Because Richie Tozier was the only one who never laughed. And ironically, he was the only one whose laugh would matter anything to Eddie.

“Oh. Oh my god.” Richie’s eyes widened, his eyebrows raising above his glasses. “Have you not kissed anyone?”
Eddie grimaced, staring at a purple stain on Richie's carpet. It was probably ink. Probably. “Uh, no?” He glanced back up. “Is that a problem for you?”
“Oh my fucking god. Eddie Kaspbrak has never had his first kiss! This is gold!” Richie practically cackled.
Eddie rolled his eyes, trying to blink away the heat he’d gained on his cheeks.

“Fuck you, I would have gotten it eventually,” Richie shoots back, even as he rushes to save the game quickly, and then tosses the controller to the side. “I’m bored," he declares loudly.
He stares resolutely at the TV the same way he’s been avoiding Eddie’s eyes most of the night, like he’s too nervous to meet Eddie’s gaze.
“You were the one who wanted to play video games all night,” Eddie grumbles, glaring at the side of his face. When we could be making out instead, he complains in his own head, but refuses to say aloud.
