After the disastrous end of the trial of seven, Prince Maekar has had enough of viciously spoilt son and his undignified behaviour. Desperate to sort this issue he decided to sequester his son away at a small convent eager for him to relearn the ways of his sex. He was determined that three years should be enough to correct his son’s atrocious behaviour, and then he can finally be married off for good. To pursue his duties as a proper wife and mother away from I am a dragon nonsense.

Aerion "Brightflame" Targaryen, the sole omega child of Prince Maekar, is notorious for being difficult and unyielding, scorning every highborn alpha suitor who's crossed his path. With no other options, his uncle Prince Baelor presents an ultimatum: either he marries Ser Duncan the Tall, a former hedge knight turned sworn sword of Lord Lyonel Baratheon, or Aerion may well find himself shoved into a convent, powerless and forgotten, for the rest of his days. But Aerion is a dragon, and dragons do not suffer such indignities, and so he plots to run away...
... But perhaps Ser Duncan is not the lowborn brute Aerion imagines him to be.

Summary
Aerion, one of the few omegas born to House Targaryen, is forced to attend a tourney at Ashford Meadow. He finds the whole thing rather vexing, for as an omega, he is not even allowed to compete in the tourney, and his mind is otherwise preoccupied with the disappearance of two of his brothers. He could not care less about Daeron, the drunken fool that he was, but Egg was but a young child, and Aerion's favorite sibling by far.
Luckily for Aerion, he also happens to run into a tall, earnest, and distractingly handsome hedge knight who may or may not end up changing his life.
