Summary
Hardwon keeps the hood of his cloak up as he approaches the downstairs bar of Le Lantern. Not only because he wouldn’t normally be caught dead in such a bougie-ass upper plate establishment—but because he’s here for a reason, and making a scene would not be conducive to his goal.
Sitting on a barstool, casually sipping at a glass of wine, is a middle-aged bullywug with glorious slicked-back hair. He’s chatting with the robot bartender—or, rather, chatting at the robot bartender, which simply clicks and beeps until given an actionable command. This doesn’t seem to deter the bullywug much, though. At least, he doesn’t let anything show behind his pearly-white smile.
Hardwon takes a deep breath, then sidles up to the bar, taking the empty stool next to the bullywug.
Swag Daniels looks up—and his eyes widen when he sees Hardwon’s face beneath the hood.

Her skin was so soft. So warm, compared to his cold corpse body. Hardwon could sense the blood flowing through all the tiny veins in her fingers, only millimeters below the surface. He could suck her fingers into his mouth, run his tongue between them, bite them in half so her blood spilled all over his tongue in dozens of little rivulets—
Hardwon wrenched his gaze back up to Moonshine’s face. If he were a better person, he’d end this risky, ridiculous idea here. Yank his hands away, firmly refuse the offer, and scurry back up to the ship before he could further hurt one of the people he loved most in the world.
He wasn’t a good person. Had never been, compared to Moonshine and Bev, but now he truly wasn’t even a person at all. The outside reflecting a truth he’d always felt deep down.
He gripped Moonshine’s hands back.

Hardwon suddenly can’t stand it. He hates this monster with his face for being braver than himself—for reaching out to Moonshine in all the ways that Hardwon never can. He hates this Hardwon’s stronger, thicker walls, or maybe his lack of walls at all. He hates this Hardwon’s swagger and boldness and bluster. He hates this Hardwon still flush with everything he’s lost, with everything he maybe never had in the first place—this Hardwon without the gaping, repulsive void at his core.
Hardwon lunges forward and swings his hammer at his other self.

Summary
This is a bit much, even for him. He hasn’t felt so constantly turned on since he was a teenager in the throes of puberty.
Maybe he’s just been pent up? He’d been spending every night for the past few weeks sharing one medium bed with Moonshine. And he misses her already, sleeping alone in his stump for just a few days; he only backed off to remind Moonshine (and himself) that he could be cool and casual, that things between them could be totally chill, that Hardwon’s feelings were no big deal and he didn’t have to be all over her 24/7. But, sharing a bed with Moonshine meant no privacy.
Yeah, that must be it. He’ll jerk off this one last time, sleep it off, and tomorrow his libido will be back to normal.

Summary
It’s funny, because for all the time we’ve spent together and all the personal, intimate things I know about his life, his habits, and his responses to extreme stress or imminent death, I feel like I’m missing a lot of the basics about Rocky—like if those extra arms would make him crazy good at juggling. We’ve been too wrapped up in saving our respective planets for stuff like that.
Now, though, there’s nothing but time. Years of it. Enough to make a guy lose his mind several times over if he’s not careful. If I’m interested in something, better make it last. Move over astrophage, there’s a new life-threatening game in town, and its name is boredom.
