Tadashi turns back to him expectantly, his shoulders falling at the way Tsukishima looks at him. He thinks about where their friendship has been, the way they’ve grown rough around the edges at the world around them. It’s always felt like self-defense— some snarky comment always at the edge of Tsukishima’s tongue, some de-escalation tactic at the edge of Tadashi’s.
Here in his room they seem to drop their spears, shields, and just be honest.(Tsukishima isn’t jealous and Yamaguchi hasn’t been in love with him for years.)
