Bucky wanders in just as she’s sitting down to eat. “You wanna have a Teen Wolf marathon when you’re done eating?”
Nat pauses halfway through cutting her yolk. “Maybe,” she says. “Will you get me some grapes?”
“Grapes are gone,” Bucky says. “Stevie and I demolished ‘em this morning. Sam helped.”
“I had a single cluster,” Sam insists. “Those two will eat just to eat, I swear.”
Bucky turns his puppy dog eyes on full blast. “But all I had was nutrient slurry through a tube for eighty years. Aren’t you glad I get to enjoy food to the fullest, Sammy?”

A bookstore open at all hours, and the same woman (???) behind the counter at all times. A very beautiful woman who knows the time without looking at clocks and produces coffee out of thin air. He's still not sure if he made a mistake or not.

“Get in bed, Sam,” Bucky says, his arm grabbing for Sam’s. “Stevie’s gotta wait for you, and you can’t keep our best guy waiting.”
Steve blushes a little, and it’s the fucking cutest thing, the way he blushes when Bucky calls him “our best guy.” Sam kisses him just for that, and when he pulls away, Steve is smiling like he’s going to put the sun to shame.
“Shut up,” Sam says, but climbs in and scoots over so Bucky’s arm is slung over him and Steve has space to get in on his side.
Steve blushes a lot, Bucky fucking loves Costco, and Sam is trying to figure out exactly what the hell Natasha Romanoff might be feeling.

Nyota calls him James, and he's not sure if it's to rile him up or to remind him that she gets to see parts of him no one else does. Winona called him Jim, and so did everyone after her, because James was his grandfather. He likes Jim, besides. It fits him.
But Nyota calls him James, and he's not angry at all. He can't be, when she shapes the syllables of his name like they belong in his mouth. He feels like he belongs when he is with her; his wound of a childhood fading to a scar with the knowledge that she doesn’t want anything from him that he cannot give.
Jim Kirk and Nyota Uhura might be the most unlikely pair in the galaxy. That doesn't mean they love each other any less.
