Hotguy beamed at him. "Well then! Why don't we get you home, beauty?" Hotguy questioned, holding his arm out for Grian to take.
Grian rolled his eyes but indulged the hero. He slotted his hand through the man's arm and gave him a questioning smile, "Seriously, why do you keep calling me that?"
Hotguy gave a sly smile but nothing else, letting the professor's question be left on a cliffhanger.

Grian just can't get a break. He works a double life, has to deal with an annoying hero cop, and now there's someone or something following his every move. So, being the idiot he is, does everything in his power to ignore such. Unfortunately, that can not be done for long no matter how hard he tries.

“Oi,” he snapped. “Tomioka.”
The room stilled—not silent, but attentive. Sanemi’s eyes locked on Giyuu’s bandaged arm.
“You gonna tell us why your sleeve’s bled through,” Sanemi growled, “or do you want me to guess?”
Giyuu met his gaze. Calm. Controlled. A few of the other Hashira glanced over, not surprising—Sanemi’s confrontations were rarely quiet.
Giyuu straightened. “I was careless,” he answered simply. Methodically.
Sanemi scoffed. “Careless? You?” He took a step forward, closing the distance between them with that sharp, storm-like presence of his.
“You’re annoyingly precise to a fault. You don’t just get ‘careless.’ So try again.”He reached out—not touching Giyuu, but close enough that the warmth of his hand brushed through the air between them. Too close. Giyuu’s breath caught, his pulse tripping over itself, his skin tightening with a prickling awareness.

Summary
After the events of the final battle, Giyu is faced with the full force of his grief. Unbeknownst to him, Sanemi is dealing with untold grief of his own.
Giyu spends his days adrift, not realizing he isn't taking proper care of himself. Eventually, Sanemi takes it upon himself to visit the water estate, either to soothe his worries or to find kinship with the other.
Along the way, the two of them realize the inevitability of their similarities. Leading to the pair weathering the storm of loss and the terrifying mercy of being known.
