All Goro can do is let out a humorless, disbelieving laugh. “Alright, very funny,” he says, though none of the thieves break character. None of them start pointing and laughing about how gullible Goro is — how they were able to fool the esteemed detective. They all just keep staring.
“You can give it up now!” Goro insists rather frantically. “This whole amnesia thing was your way of pranking me! But I figured it out, so you can drop it before we waste any more of the doctor’s time.”
“We’re just as confused as you are,” Niijima mutters, much less extravagant than Kitagawa declaring;
“How dare you accuse us of a prank so ill-conceived!”
Or the fic where Joker gets amnesia. Which makes him think he's dating Goro for some unfathomable reason.

He should’ve known, in hindsight, that nothing in his life ever got handed to him this easily, especially not with Joker involved. Not with these sharp eyes on him, attention undivided to read things between Goro’s lines that no one else had ever been able to catch.
“I see,” Akira finally replied and there was a hint of spite in his voice, unmistakingly, a hint of spite Goro wasn’t allowed to call out because he couldn’t risk giving away that he knew him well enough to recognise it even now. “Well, that explains why you never called, honey.”
To escape his past, Akechi decides to pretend to have amnesia. What he didn't expect was for Akira to retaliate by pretending to be his boyfriend.

Dice is seven years old, invincible in the way that all children believe themselves to be, and he climbs to the top of the old tree, ignoring the way the weary branches creak underneath him. When the branches give way, the cat simply leaps to safety as Dice plummets down. In the brief moment before he hits the ground, he feels like he could free-fall forever.

Summary
Yumeno Gentaro is the greatest Phantom Thief of the modern era as well as the lead reporter on his own case, because of course he is. Arisugawa Dice is the worst criminal in the world, but he stole the heart of Lady Luck so perhaps he’s truly the best. They are two stars in the sky doomed to combust.
But at least it’ll be a good show.
in which Hifumi is Gentaro's least favorite coworker by nature of being his only coworker, Doppo's luck is being run into the ground and so is he, Ramuda is finally here, and a thieving liar and an honest thief may find the greatest treasures on these moonlit nights are none but each other.
