Maybe then it was no surprise that Jayce had such an effect on him. If he had been merely good-looking… well, then he would have been just one in a sea of merely good-looking men. Viktor could appreciate a handsome face and attractive physique as much as the next person, but he had never felt the urge to stroke himself to completion over a chiseled jawline before. His fantasies had always been faceless, more about the play than the players. But now it was Jayce’s face and Jayce’s voice, and the things he imagined were extrapolations of what he guessed Jayce was like in bed. Or out of it, if that was the sort of thing he got up to.
(Viktor cranks it in the lab; Jayce walks in on him by accident.)

Summary
Viktor finds it when he is going through Jayce’s notebook. Though maybe it is his, now, too, considering that Jayce has apparently diligently kept to signing every single page of his notes—egotistical bastard that he is—, but now adding Viktor’s name.
But it is not the horribly misleading Viktor and Jayce Talis that catches his eye—although it certainly does, and he mentally bookmarks that discovery to tease Jayce about it later—or the sketches of his face—those he is aware of, Jayce is not subtle, though he is a little surprised at the quantity of them—but something else entirely.
A guide. To his handwriting.
It is colour-coded.
Or: Viktor has such bad handwriting that literally one else can read it. That is, until Jayce comes along.

“We should just get it out of our systems?” Jayce blurts out.
Well.
As the night drags on, Jayce and Viktor find themselves struggling to stabilize the arcane crystal. This is only exacerbated by the fact that Viktor is incredibly attractive, and Jayce can't seem to tear his eyes off the Zaunite.

What is left between them after the conflict is over, after everything is said and done and they remain alive yet changed in a strange new place? As they walk miles and miles, alone yet together, and Jayce is still Jayce and Viktor is anything but himself? How can they move past what was, rebuild something new, become something more finally as the last of the walls and the canyons that kept them from the truth of what they are and what they mean to each other are broken down and crossed?
Viktor doesn't know, cannot know, only hope to find an answer as he tries to find himself.
Alternatively: a series of vignettes following Viktor and Jayce after they wake up in an alternate timeline where they travel an untamed land in search of civilization, explore their own relationship, and fall inexplicably back into a love they can finally admit was always there.

The project didn't start out purely for personal pleasure. It was in everyone's best interests Jayce discovered some way to relieve the stress and the tension of working on Hextech around the clock with no time allotted for finding someone to have some more personal fun with. So, really, if you think about it, it was a selfless act to spend precious hours and resources making himself a toy to fuck himself silly with.

“Jayce.” Viktor leans forward and brushes his lips against Jayce’s ear.
Jayce’s entire body shudders.
Pressing a soft kiss to the space between his neck and his ear, Viktor nips at Jayce’s earlobe before teasing it between his lips.
“Let us try to disprove the crystallographic restriction theorem,” Viktor whispers softly.
Jayce and Viktor can't agree on how to stabilize the hexcrystal for public use. They resolve their argument in the best way.
