Summary
Maria Kyle is a footnote in her daughter's story.
In Catwoman Vol. 2, she is a woman trapped in an abusive marriage who kills herself. In the Matt Reeves Batman Cinematic Universe, she is a woman who had a daughter with Carmine Falcone then died by his hand. In the Gotham TV series, she is a woman who abandons Selina, shows up in the series briefly, and then is never seen again.
All we know about her fits in a paragraph of a few sentences, and I can't abide by this. Maria Kyle deserves to be more than a refrigerated woman. So I'm giving her the backstory she never got.
