Summary
The bard is an omega, young and pretty but poorly received by the tavern crowd. He smells like a stray, is barely older than a pup, and isn’t very good at his work. Geralt isn't interested in him besides that, but for some unfathomable reason the other is interested in him.
He lets the bard follow him mostly just because getting rid of him would be more annoying, and maybe because he pities him a bit. But it's not going to be that interesting a job, he's already sure. There's no harm in letting a human hang around.
Of course, then they get kidnapped by vengeful elves.
So . . . fuck.

I don't know about the last one. It's a free country. He can park his car where he wants as long as it's not in a tow-zone.'

Geralt has never known the gods or destiny or death to be kind, to show him mercy even if he begged for it. There’s no sense in it when he already knows the answer; bind it in a book or set it to a pretty tune, no story about a witcher will ever be more than a tragedy.
(Before he died scared and alone and half the Continent away from anyone who could save him, Jaskier spent more than twenty years making Geralt out to be the hero of his stories. It’s the least he can do, Geralt thinks, to finally fucking act like one.)

There are no less than twelve dismembered drowner bodies littered around the lakeside, a relatively easy fight for Geralt made complicated by the surprise appearance of six villainous Topielec and a pack of truly disgusting fanged leeches. Giant six-foot fanged leeches, with fucking claws.
All of which are now - hopefully - exceptionally dead, but whose combined effort has left Geralt…not dead. He’s not dead. Jaskier will never fucking forgive him if he dies now, on a nice, simple drowner hunt.
