On a very normal day, Izuku is pouring over some maps Aizawa handed him to figure out if they still had any relevance with the evershifting trash geography of the Ground — when the front door opens and Tenya strides in.
What is unusual is that Tenya looks like he's been chewed up and spit out by a trashbeast, and there's a child, small and afraid, tucked against his broad chest like they want to disappear from sight.- Tenya comes back from a supply run with a child. There is no Cleaner protocol for this.

"Couldn't this have waited until tomorrow? It's-" Shōto glances at the oven's clock, glowing ominously red, "-four in the morning, Tōya."
Some of the humor vanishes from Tōya's eyes. Pulling out one of the kitchen chairs, he drops himself into it, resting his arms on the back of the chair.
"Make yourself comfortable," Shōto comments drily. As expected, Tōya grins, but it doesn't reach his eyes the way it did before. There's suddenly a sinking feeling in Shōto's stomach, and it doesn't go away when Tōya asks: "Shō, have you heard from Fuyumi lately?" -

Summary
It doesn't matter that her quirk is already up and active: impaled by some sort of debrit, the rice storage tower next to her groans, strains, and bursts like a bag of cereal. Ochako throws her hands up, instinctively, to use her quirk and attempt to push away the wave rolling down at her, but there's just too much. The pieces are too small, and for every rice corn Ochako touches, thousand slip by and pile down on her.
- On patrol, Ochako gets buried under a collapsing rice storage tower.

Summary
If asked, Aizawa would describe Īda Tenya as a stabilizing and mature presence in the class of 1-A. It's only when he finds Tenya with blood on his hands that the image crumbles apart.
(Or, Tenya wants to do nothing but run. Faster, and faster again. Aizawa catches him when he, inevitably, stumbles.)
