This fic is just a juggernaut of a character study in less than 2,000 words. Fucking brilliant. Ilya POV about Shane here is *chefs kiss* and every sentence I can hear and feel Ilya saying and thinking these things. Incredible fic, amazing writing.

After the Battle of Kaer Morhen, Geralt and Jaskier take advantage of there being rooms with doors that lock to have more involved sex. Feelings are experienced and mostly brushed aside, but it's fine because they are just on the same page enough to make each other feel better, not worse.
“Oh ho ho, is that what we’re doing?” Jaskier is never smooth, and tends to veer into childish enthusiasm about sex. It’s shocking how often he manages to get laid. No, it really isn’t. It’s working for Geralt.
“Not in here.”
Jaskier hums in assent and waggles his eyebrows.
Geralt sighs fondly and maneuvers Jaskier to kneel next to one of the tubs so he can wash the bard’s hair. Words are hard right now—harder than usual—and Geralt feels like he’s used all of them for Ciri. It’s unfair, but Jaskier has never expected words when a look or a touch would suffice. He seems to prefer it—words are easier to lie with.
