‘I heard your internal medicine rotation’s going to be at Miyagi Central Hospital,' Suga says, turning to Iwaizumi. 'Who’s your mentor gonna be?’
‘Dr. Oikawa Tooru,’ Iwaizumi replies, and barely has time to yank his body back as Suga chokes on and almost sprays out a mouthful of alcohol.
‘What is it,’ Iwaizumi says, feeling a little unnerved.
In response, Suga simply drags a pitcher of alcohol from across the table, and starts to tip more beer into Iwaizumi’s glass. ‘You’re going to need this,’ Suga says.

“If you guys are insisting I answer…” Tooru bit his lip, glancing at the screen, his fingers nervously drumming against his keyboard. “Yes, I suppose.” He said it with a nonchalant shrug, but even he could feel his cheeks heat, the unmistakable pink tinge spreading across his face. "Why did I hesitate?" he quickly read, trying to brush it off. "I didn't! Chat, you're imagining things. I’m not blushing." But he was. He could feel the heat creeping up, and no amount of joking could stop it.
The truth was, yes, he was single. Technically. But he was also undeniably, frustratingly, maybe a little head over heels for someone he was casually seeing (read: just sex, except maybe not really).
That someone? Kuroo Tetsurou — a sports management major he’d met in an elective class. Tall, broad shoulders, arms that looked like they could bench press Tooru and his gaming rig, and those ridiculous legs that seemed to go on forever. But it wasn’t just Kuroo’s looks that got to him — it was his infuriating smirk, the one that always seemed like it knew exactly what Tooru was thinking before Tooru did.

It’s July 10th, 2024, and Oikawa Tooru is an Olympian. His smiling face airs on an NHK promo every 45 seconds. He’s captain of the national men’s volleyball team, reigning star of the professional leagues, and he hasn't spoken to Iwaizumi Hajime in two years.
He has, however, sent Iwaizumi tickets for the 2024 Los Angeles Summer Games.
“So go,” says Matsukawa's voice. “It’s only a few weeks. You’ve got a whole city to hide in if it gets awkward, and if it doesn’t get awkward, well…”
It’s like watching the future reconfigure, like being in high school again, watching team after team fall to Oikawa’s faultless planning and shameless charm.
“I’ll get to watch a whole lot of volleyball,” Hajime says, and resigns himself to fate and/or Oikawa Tooru.
“Hey, when you get there, can you bag a gymnast for me?” Hanamaki asks, and Matsukawa squawks.

Summary
Iwaizumi Hajime, 27, E.R. nurse at University of Tokyo Hospital. Some people think that life working in one of the biggest E.R. departments in the Tokyo metropolis must be hard - Iwaizumi thinks that if he didn't have to spend half of his time entertaining/cooking for/babysitting/avoiding one of the most ridiculous doctors to ever enter the medical profession, his job would be a piece of cake.
He has a hard enough time admitting that he and Oikawa are even friends, with how much of a pain in his ass the doctor can be. By the time he figures out that he's in love with the idiot, Oikawa has driven him mad enough that he just accepts it.

Summary
Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Organized Crime Control Bureau has set up a sting operation to catch a drug deal in the act, with the specific aim of arresting known criminal Ikeda Yasunori, one of the key players in Tokyo's illegal drug trade. He has a violent past and if they make any mistakes, he's going to take the opportunity to run. That's where Iwaizumi comes in.
It's fairly standard procedure to have at least one handler and canine pair at an operation, and Iwaizumi's one of the best. His canine partner Maro is aggressive enough to terrify the majority of the force, and that's just fine by him. If this guy's as nasty and desperate as the briefing makes him out to be, that aggression might be just what they need.

Sawamura Daichi, perfect son-in-law #1 and regular at the coffee shop Oikawa works at, decides one day to leave his full loyalty card (and it's subsequent free reward) behind the counter to help out a friend who is having a terrible day. They say kindness can change the world - Oikawa doesn't quite know about that, but Sawamura's single gesture might have just set him on the path to true love, because Iwaizumi Hajime is everything he wants, and maybe everything he needs.
It's not a smooth journey, though. There are bumps along the way - like terrible latte art, or Oikawa's distinct lack of chill. At least he has Daisho's snark to guide him along. Sort of.

Clearly Iwaizumi had a checkered past. Kyoutani has never asked about it, nor has Iwaizumi ever brought it up. He knows it’s a sore spot for his mentor, just like the gorgeous Monte Carlo he keeps hidden away is, so he leaves it alone. Out on the streets, you learn a little something about when to turn a blind eye in order to survive; Kyoutani knows better than most to leave the past of men like Iwaizumi well alone.
