Summary
“Ruby, don’t make me say it.” Nicole almost whined. Almost. Ruby just raised an eyebrow at her in silence. She was usually the type to win psychological warfare such as this one, but she also knew when to let go of her pride. “Fine. Please?”
Ruby smiled at her, all teeth and predatory glint in her eyes. “Okay. I’ll fake date you…” Before Nicole could even celebrate, she raised a finger. “But you owe me.”
She would for sure regret this, but all she could do was smile tightly and take the win.

Summary
“Shit, what time is it?” Ruby asked.
Nicole checked her phone, “a little after 3 in the afternoon. Why? You got another hot date to get to?” she tried her very best not to sound jealous, but judging by Ruby’s grin – she’d failed.
“Would you be jealous if I did?” Ruby purred in a teasing tone, as she leaned in just a little closer.
“I’d be offended.” Nicole firmly stated. “I’m not the type of girl you ditch for another date.”
“Oh really?” Ruby hummed in an amused tone. “Then do tell me what type of girl you are?”
“I’m the type of girl you take on a lunch date at a mall, only to then take her shopping and buy her whatever she desires,” Nicole purred, as a sweet grin curled up on her lips. “I’m the type of girl you treat like a princess.”

Summary
It’s very new, but, we’re very happy.
Nicole couldn't recall ever having felt both filled with adoration for someone she so deeply loved, yet at the same time be so overcome with fear for what her parents would think of their daughter’s romantic devotion to another woman.
And whatever terrible response she’d pictured ever since she was 15, whenever she imagined coming out to her parents, in no way compared to what it really felt like when your parents shattered the most true and vulnerable part of yourself.
“I didn’t raise a homosexual daughter,” Nicole’s father firmly repeated.
Karen nodded beside him. “Exactly. I didn’t put you through private school – even four years of UCLA – for you to suddenly decide that this is who you are.”
It took Nicole every bit of strength not to scream or cry or run off or do anything outrageous.
