Ada didn't allow herself to feel many weaknesses, but standing on death's door and after watching Raccoon City explode, she couldn't help but limp to her lonely, torturous hotel room, just as she couldn't help but pass out from exhaustion. She just didn't expect to wake up in a completely different place. She truly wasn't worthy of a second of peace, not even on the brink of death.

For the first time in a long time, Leon felt a sense of tranquility in his life. He had secured the elpis for everyone who needed it, including his (finally) wife, Ada Wong, and himself. Both felt brand new. After a long, wonderful, sleepless night, Leon woke up and went to make coffee for them. He just didn't expect to come across a much younger version of Ada, covered in injuries and wrapped in trauma, standing right by the bed. “It did?” he asks, almost laughing at the absurdity. Until he feels the sharp pain of her fingernails digging through his clothes. “It did,” he corrects, teeth clenched. “For me as well.”

It was a spell of the night: a moonless sky, petrichor suspended in the air, the discreet passing of wind through wet trees. Akin to a spectre, she was only to appear when the circumstances deemed it right.
Leon remained there in front of the open refrigerator door, crouched in a low squat with his back to the presence hovering behind him. He could already hear the resonance of her voice echoing from his memories before she spoke.
“Hey there, stranger.”
On a rainy April night, Leon wanders through a liquor store. Plagued by insomnia, he seeks comfort for his ailments. As usual, Ada Wong arrives when Leon needs her most.
