Summary

Breaking the binds without use of elemental power could certainly be… difficult.
“Free from all of them, I assume?” Tartaglia looks back up to Lumine, raising an eyebrow.
“Every single one.”
“Can I… break them?”
“I would prefer it if you didn't.” Lumine laughs, the sound melodic in the air. “But if that's your method, then so be it.”
Tartaglia glances towards the stool near the bed, eyeing his Vision. Using the Delusion would be absolute overkill, of course, but perhaps he could somehow tap into that Hydro…
But Lumine was smarter than that. She had a strong link with elemental energy, and would probably be able to feel it in the air the second he tried it.
That, and he didn't want to disappoint her.

Summary
Mermaids are beings of myth and legend among the locals of the small town of Morepesok, regarded as sinister creatures who love no more than to drag unsuspecting sailors down to their watery graves, and the local coast guard has an “attack on sight” statute regarding any “unnatural creatures of the sea.” This all changes one night as a young marine biologist who just got her degree (Tonia) begins exploring a cove when a large storm blows in and brings her into contact with a beautiful and injured mermaid. She has no choice but to turn to her older brother, Ajax, also a member of the coast guard, for help. His life gets thrown upside down as he grows attached to this watery maiden.
