Summary
Haruka’s hand squeezes at his wrist as she stands behind him. Kiryu knows she’s seen the pallor of Majima’s skin, the shallow cuts at his shoulder.
“Hiya, kiddo,” Majima says, his words dry.
There’s a brief pause. Then:
“I don’t know what you did,” Haruka says, and Kiryu tilts his head back to just barely catch the pointed look in her eyes, “but you deserve it.”-
It's spring 2006, and Kiryu finds an injured Majima.

Ryunosuke has practiced this dance approximately three hundred times in his head: he’d walk over, promptly knock on the door, and say, “We need to talk. May I come in?” with the confidence of a man who had no doubts about his place in his partner’s life. Easy, simple.
That’s exactly why when he finally arrives at his destination, he putters around the sidewalk outside Kazuma’s flat for a few minutes, approaches the door, then promptly does not knock on the door, and turns back to investigate the ruddy, cobbled streets that are infinitely more interesting.
A thought echoes in the nook of his mind housing the sense of security about his relationship with Kazuma, endlessly thudding against the once iron-clad chamber walls and threatening to escape its enclosure: After all that’s happened, what if we’ve changed too much?
