The camp was under their protection, everyone was under their protection. The two reach the small clearing in which the Betas’ stand, assessing the food they’ve gathered. Their heads snap up at the sound of the approaching wolves, and eyes draw narrow at the sight of Stiles. Omega; worth and purpose unknown.

As soon as the door is pulled open Stiles says, “You’ve been avoiding me,” and then he stares dumbly at Derek for a long moment, because Derek has a mop of hair now, like Andrew’s, falling over his forehead. There are crinkles at the corners of his eyes, his scruff is endearingly uneven, he’s wearing practically nothing—who opens the door in their underwear at one in the afternoon, Jesus Christ—and nobody should look this good pushing forty, werewolf genes are so freaking unfair.
There’s an uptick to one corner of Derek’s mouth. He says, “Stiles,” and his name is a sleepy rumble in his chest.
Seriously. God almighty, what has Stiles done to deserve this?

Summary
Stiles almost thought he was doing something wrong because how the fuck could one person possibly be this tense. However, after a few long minutes of digging his fingers into Derek's back and rubbing, Stiles finally managed to smooth out one of the smaller knots.
Derek finally reacted, gasping softly and subtly arching up. The alpha froze, while Stiles continued to knead his back. After a few moments, during which Stiles could feel just how tensed up Derek was, the grumpy wolf slowly relaxed. By the time Stiles finally succumbed to exhaustion, half of the knots were gone and Derek was practically melting into the bed.

Except for the fact that he was apparently unable to sleep on his own now. He thought that would go away after a couple days, then after a couple weeks - but it had been almost two months, so he was a little concerned that this was an actual issue.
So maybe he wasn't completely fine.
