    Summary

Valarr let the hand stay extended. Patient. Unbothered. Like a man who was accustomed to people needing a moment.

"You should know," Dunk said, "that I don't want anything from your family."

"I know," Valarr said pleasantly. "That's rather why I'm here instead of my cousin." A small pause, the timing precise. "He wanted to come himself."

Or: Duncan doesn't want anything from the Targaryens. The Targaryen family has other ideas.

    Summary

When Thorin dies in Bilbo's arms, Bilbo decides to retreat back to the Shire and leave his new life behind in the hopes of pretending none of this ever happened. Unfortunately, Bilbo is pregnant, and he never got around to telling anyone in the chaos of Thorin's madness. He finds that the Shire is far different than he remembers, or perhaps he has changed more than he thought, and raising a baby on his own while he has become something of a pariah is harder than he expected. Then, one day, very familiar dwarves show up on his doorstep, and reveal that Thorin was never actually dead. Now Bilbo is forced to come to terms with potentially reuniting with a love he thought he'd loss with a toddler who has no idea he even has another father. For the third time in a handful of years, Bilbo must decide whether or not to make the long journey across the horizon, and if he goes, is he willing to fight to regain what he lost?

    Summary

This fic is inspired by all the tiktoks I've seen comparing Aerion and Jace, cause I agree they really do look alike.
    -------‐-
"Where am I?" Jace whispered through his hazy thoughts and that chilling cold that shook his bones.
    The man frowned at him.
"We are in Lord Ashford's Castle, son," he answered, concern etched into his features.
He looked at Jace like that was supposed to tell him something, to jog a memory in his brain, but it didn't and he could do nothing but stare back blankly.

He shook his head, and it felt unbearably heavy. He didn't know where he was, and he was surrounded by strangers. He had to find out, make sense of things. The room started spinning and he knew what would come next.

"No, I...who are you?" he managed to croak out, frustrated.

"Don't play dumb with me now Aerion, I'm your father," Jace barely still heard through the ringing in his ears, before everything turned black.
