Summary
Sometimes, Aaron wants to punch John. Wants to punch anyone, anything, but John is the closest thing. The old life is bad, but the new life is like a skin that doesn’t quite fit. Like he has to bend to fit into a mould that should be comfortable. The mould isn’t the problem; Aaron is.
He has a temper. He doesn’t know what is good for him. The past is a fire pit, and Aaron keeps trying to jump inside. He doesn't know how to stop.
Aaron lost his memory. Luckily, he has John, who helps him get better. He doesn't need his old memories. Especially not when a handsome blond man shows up at his engagement party, claiming to be his ex-husband.

Summary
They deserved a change in scenery. Somewhere their husbands didn’t have a sway. The road stretched out before him, the midday sun intruding through the clouds just off the course. He could take them anywhere. He could keep driving, the hum of the engine their only companion. Robert would wake up, and they’d be someplace nice, somewhere with a beach or a rocky coastline.
It's Seb's eighth birthday, and Aaron can't help but think about what happened to him at that age. With a sleeping Robert in the passenger seat, he could take them anywhere. But Robert isn't his, not anymore, and Aaron is hurting.

Robert tenses when he spots Cain at the Woolie. Like Aaron would ever let Cain hurt him again. Like that’s ever gonna happen.

A pit of guilt settles inside Robert's stomach. The past, just another thing he cannot fix.Robert and Aaron finally start talking about the past couple of years, about change and love and hope. Set shortly after Moira gets released from prison.

Summary
He’s in front of Robert now, crowding him into the kitchen counter as far as he can without laying a hand on him. “I’m not asking anymore.”
Robert’s breath hitches. His eyes drop to Aaron’s mouth. His voice is husky when he speaks. “What are you doing?”
“Taking,” Aaron whispers. His hands find Robert’s jaw, angling it just right before pushing their mouths together. Robert opens up for him immediately, letting him take and take and take.

Really, he should just be grateful he’s not been kicked to the curb yet. He’s more than aware of how many of Aaron’s family members are campaigning for exactly that.
The conversation moves on while Robert’s spiralling, and he makes his excuses to get out of there while Adam is midway through a spiel about who-knows-what, neither of them paying him much mind because why would they?
It’s not like it’s his fucking birthday or anything.

That’s all Robert said to cause the argument. Their worst one for a while, to the point that Aaron has gone scuttling off to Mackenzie’s house for a few tinnies to calm down.
