Kiryu, who looked like he was a second away from dozing off, snapped awake hearing that statement. “We would break the internet if that happened.” He snickered.
“Yeah, Nire-kun will throw a fit if he finds out.”
“Yeah yeah,” Kiryu waved him off. “I’ll be kind to Nirei-chan and not date you. It’ll save him some headache.”
They bantered back and forth, once again about the same thing, until the joke startled feeling less humorous.
Or, the three times they joked about dating each other, and the one time it's wasn't a joke anymore.

Tsukishima hated Valentine’s Day. Not particularly because of the countless couples buzzing around him like bees or the bunch of chocolates stuffed in his locker and the confessions he had to turn down. (Well, maybe a little bit because of that.) The thing that was particularly bothering him this year was the fancy pink board sitting outside his favorite bakery displaying the limited edition strawberry shortcake that made its presence known every year only on Valentine's Day.
It was not the fancy display itself that bothered him, but the two words right at the bottom of the board in red, glaring right at his face.
