Summary
In the water, Rin opens his eyes: the sting and the salt and the interminable, empty blue. It threw him off balance, hearing himself talk like that. That much, that calm. When he lets Isagi in like that, he can’t stop his heart from reaching out for more, clumsy and stupid.
He swims for a long time, until his muscles ache in that good way that lets his brain fuzz out a little bit. When he gets out of the water, Isagi and the dog have left the beach.
Everything comes crashing down on Itoshi Rin. All it really takes is Isagi Yoichi, Greece, and a stray dog.

“Whatever shit you’re spewing doesn’t mean anything to me,” Rin sighs, raising his hand to scratch the nape of his neck. “I get that a lot. You should be used to my behavior now. This is why we don’t talk to each other.”
“Then,” Isagi takes a breath through his closed teeth, leaning bit by bit, and it’s cold when Isagi puts his hand over Rin’s own on the balcony edge. “Wouldn’t you want to get to know each other?”

Rin is sure he’s lost count of how often he’s defaulted to this routine now, the same thud of foam on hardwood, the ache in his muscles when he starts. Still, it’s not totally ineffective, and so he settles into it.
