He tilted his head, eyes still locked on hers. “Not interested?”
“I… don’t know what you’re getting at.”
He sighed, almost disappointed. “Brightest witch of the age.”
Her throat tightened. “Are you… hitting on me?”
The moment she said it, she regretted it. He leaned in even further, close enough that she could see the faint sheen on his lower lip, the way his eyelashes were dark at the tips. Then, he spoke softly—devastatingly so. “What do you think I’m doing?”

Summary
Draco Malfoy does not question his judgments. He does not revise them nor reconsider them. If something is beneath him, it remains beneath him. That is order. That is absolute fact. That is how the world should function.
Hermione Granger isn't clever. Neither is she impressive. Nor is she worth revisiting. She is not difficult to understand, she is difficult to tolerate. There is a difference and Draco Malfoy understands it perfectly.
Hierarchy. Blood. Inheritance. Not one thing belongs to her, therefore she doesn't belong in his sight which ultimately means she does not belong anywhere and Draco Malfoy has never tolerated things that don't belong.Bookmarked by mana0318
