He doesn’t know what his face does. There will probably be pictures of this moment all over the internet by tomorrow morning. He doubts it’s flattering, considering there’s a non-zero chance he’s going to throw up all over the microphone.
Ilya scrambles. Too tired, too shocked at his own brain’s betrayal to know how to fix this. “Blyat,” he spits. Then he laughs, and even he can hear that it sounds more wild than genuine. “English language is hard, yes? I meant my boys, my boys who are my friends. The Centaurs, yes? They are all my boy friends.”

Summary
Having Hayden steal Lily's number from Shane’s phone for her to add to the WAGs group chat probably wasn’t the most honest thing she’d ever done, but she was glad she’d done it. Lily was a riot, not the kind of woman she thought Shane would go for, but they say opposites attract. She’d taken to the group chat like wild fire to a forest; creating chaos and sowing new seeds, helping them all grow and flourish. While terrorizing them with her blatant support for the Boston Raiders (really Shane?! Why!?). She also gave gospel level relationship advice and was always there to help the other women with the perfect tip to spruce up an outfit to a 10. The whole chat adored her and welcomed her into the sisterhood, but what sold Jackie on her was how clear it was that she was so head over heels in love with Shane. Jackie was practically ready to invite Lily into her family.
So, the fact they’d never met face to face was starting to kill Jackie. When Lily asked if she could host a girl’s night at her place instead of meeting at a bar or club, the chat went wild.

“I was thinking,” Shane begins, and his tone is cautious, so Ilya is wary, “that you could get a dog.” Which is not what Ilya expected him to say at all. Shane shuffles closer to Ilya on the couch, rests a hand on his knee. “A service dog,” he clarifies.
Ilya stares at him. “I am not blind, Shane,” he says.
Shane laughs. “I know,” he says. “It wouldn’t be for blindness, it would be for your PTSD. C-PTSD.” He says the diagnosis matter-of-factly, the way he always does. Like it’s just another part of Ilya he loves, not a monster.____________________
