Summary
“Ilya?” Shane asked the tribute sitting at an otherwise empty table as he approached, “Rozanov?”
The boy stared up at him with a gaze so intense it made Shane falter from the practiced script he had created for meeting his tribute. His blue eyes were sharp but not hostile. They still made Shane feel like a rabbit caught in a trap.
He stuck his hand out a little more robotically than he meant to, “I’m Shane Hollander. I’m your mentor.”
“Shane Hol-an-der,” Ilya said slowly, dragging out the syllables of Shane’s last name, “I know who you are, Shane Hollander.”
Shane’s hand drooped, face scrunched in confusion. Between the boy already knowing who he was and a wholly unfamiliar accent, Shane was out of his depth, “How do you —“
A sharp, unfriendly grin took over Ilya’s previously passive face, “You are the Capitol’s darling, yes? ‘The most promising up-and-coming mind in Panem’ is what they say.”

“Enjoying the game, Nathaniel?” A man asked softly in Japanese, right by his ear and placing a hand on the middle of his back.
Nathaniel didn’t jump but it was a close thing. It was near impossible for anyone to sneak up on him but he’d lost himself so thoroughly in the game that he hadn’t heard Ichirou approaching.
Ever since he had made the choice to protect Kevin, Nathaniel hadn’t been able to get the damn sport or the idiot Foxes out of his head. It was consuming his every free moment and even those that he should have been focusing, too. He’d managed to find and watch every single match the Foxes had played since David Wymack started the sad excuse of a team.
Their faults and failures were obvious and enraging. Their occasional triumphs felt like a drug to Nathaniel. When he watched the game where Andrew Minyard only allowed five shots in before shutting down the goal, it made him feel almost dizzy.

“No.” Ilya shook his head, his gaze trailing over Shane from head to toe before drifting slowly back up and settling on the wide set of his cupid’s bow. “I just do not need guests to see whole house before I get them into bed.”
OR: Ilya doesn’t want a new home, but he definitely wants his real estate agent.
