Summary
Dazai Osamu was, without a doubt, the most popular person attending Yokohama High School. All the guys respected him, and almost all the girls wanted to be with him. Everybody knew this, and because of that, he had almost everyone wrapped around his fingers.
Almost.
Chuuya Nakahara was widely known throughout the school as someone not to mess with. His short temper and bad attitude have landed him in quite a few fights. Fights that he always won. Because of this, he was the second most respected person attending Yokohama High School.
Being in second place was infuriating to Chuuya. So, while he had never talked to him personally, Chuuya hated Dazai.
So when their art teacher choose them as partners for their mid-term project, Chuuya could not be more pissed off.

The softness of his voice sent shivers down his spine. “For what?” Chuuya whispers, too afraid that if he spoke too loudly in this moment, it would disappear before his eyes.
“For today,” Dazai confesses, brown eyes staring into blue ones, in the hopes that he might drown in them forever. “For just seeing me.”
“Do you always thank people by kissing them?”
“No,” Dazai whispered with a trembling breath. “Just you.”

“A day off?” Chuuya echoes, blinking slowly.
“Yes,” Mori repeats with a chuckle, but it sounds like an order this time. “A day off. Do with it as you please.” And right as Chuuya is opening his mouth to ask why, Mori perks up and says, “Ah, I instructed Dazai-kun to take the day off as well.” He smiles serenely. “So you two may spend it together, if you’d like.”
Chuuya’s eye twitches.
In between carnival games and ice cream stands, Chuuya learns a thing or two at seventeen about normalcy, cotton candy, and hand-holding.
