Din wonders what her eyes truly looked like without the tinted visor obstructing his vision, wonders whether they’re darker in shade like billowing clouds of volcanic ash; jet black obsidian eyes that knew no other reason for existing other than to give the world a little wonder. And maybe, just maybe, if he studies them long enough, he’ll finally know what it means to stargaze. Or perhaps they’re warmer in the sun; pools of sickly sweet honey flecked with gold that many desperately try to pull from the ground, deep and rich like the colour of freshly turned earth after rain.
