Summary
It’s hard to talk to Sunoo these days. Jake doesn’t know when that happened, or if that was always the case.
The inscription on the car's side-view mirror seems to suggest otherwise. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.
When Jake looks at Sunoo, he wonders if that was ever true at all.
Jake falls out of love as fast as he falls into it and, somewhere along the way, he realizes he left Sunoo behind. He's beginning to realize a lot of things when it comes to him and Sunoo.
