Summary
Someone had taken a huge spoon and scooped the organs right out of his body, leaving him hollow. And yet he felt sick, gut churning as the world spun around him.
His surroundings blurred until he was all that was left, him and the bottomless pit on his chest.
And then there was a hand, on his shoulder. The weight of it enough to pull him out of his own head, just for a moment.
“Todd? Hey.” Someone tried to get his attention, a familiar voice.
Neil.
or, they've been friends for a few months now, and Todd has been doing a good job at keeping his struggles hidden.
That is, until one day he doesn't show up at lunch, and for the first time ever he's got people who notice his absence. -

Summary
His hands shook as he reached into his pocket to pull out the little bag of powder, and he couldn’t help but laugh a little at the absurdity of it all.
Look at him, sitting on a kids’ playground and pulling up his hoodie sleeve to line up Ketamine on the back of his forearm. Sad and pathetic, that’s what he was– And had someone else been in his position he would’ve probably felt pity, but right now inside his chest he felt nothing but hollow.
He stared at the line he’d made– A little uneven and balancing precariously on top of his skin because there wasn’t a flat surface around him that looked clean enough for it. Truly a masterpiece.
or, Dream had a fight with his parents and made a bad choice. Thankfully, Bad is there for him.

“Mother,” His voice cracked, getting stuck at the back of his throat as she gently pulled him in a warm hug.
The fabric of her coat was itchy against his cheek but he buried his face in it anyways.or, it's December 1945 and Dream just came home after fighting in the war.

Summary
Look at him George! He’s– He’s literally a Christmas decoration!”
He stood there as his best friends chuckled at him, Sapnap openly laughing and George, bless his heart, trying to hold it in.
“I really don’t understand the point of this…” He said, scrunching up his face as he moved to unwrap the wires from around his head. The room around them was a mess with colorful ornaments and strings of lights scattered on the floor, the tree standing bare in the corner of the room that left him wondering why he was the one being decorated.
“Aw, come on Dream, we’ve told you. It’s tradition!”
“Yeah but… I just don’t get it, why are we celebrating this dead guy’s birthday?”
or, Warden hybrid Dream experiences Christmas with his friends for the first time. Some things go well, others not really, but most importantly he learns he is loved.

Summary
Turns out Neil Perry was never taught how to draw a proper lamb. Just a simple lamb for a simple child.
----------------------
(But this was neither a simple child nor a simple lamb. This was a child with a list of requirements, who corrected Neil, pushed him further and further, toward perfection. Toward compelling him to draw the perfect lamb, one that would suit the boy. Except Neil did not want a lamb. He had never even thought of one. But that had never mattered. Right, father?)Bookmarked by might_aswell

Summary
“I keep thinking about my father.”
Neil finally admits, still not meeting Todd’s gaze.
Todd doesn’t respond immediately, he merely moves a little closer, offering silent comfort.
He leans against the tired boy’s desk, his face apprehensive.
Todd’s eyes trace Neil’s jaw—it’s clenched, his lips are pressed tight, and his brows tense.
His hand twitches, hesitantly, it hovers around Neil’s shoulder.
Finally, he lets it rest there—firm, unmoving.Neil’s eyes meet Todd’s in response, and he offers a tender smile that reaches his eyes—even though his jaw remains tight with worry.
“You’re allowed to want things.” Todd finishes, his grip tightening ever so slightly.
