Summary
“Well, you are very smart and your essay was well-written, but even the most well-renowned scientists have to cite the studies they build upon,” Caitlyn says.
Caitlyn’s glass is empty, so Vi gets to work on preparing another drink to give her hands something to do. “That rule applies to, like, STEM classes. Rules in the humanities are malleable and shit. Meant to be broken.”
“Rules are rules, Vi. We can bend them all we want, but we can’t quite break them.”
OR
Piltover University's Non-Traditional Students Initiative means Vi and her little sister have been able to study at the prestigious school for a few years now. She's focused on her studies, part-time job, and hobbies—an uncomplicated life. But then she meets Caitlyn Kiramman, her professor for her Feminist Literature class, and things suddenly aren't so simple anymore.

Summary
“I miss her,” Caitlyn whispers. “She didn’t make my life easy. In fact, she complicated it exponentially. I never made the right decisions for her, was never on the same page. Thinking of her always brought pain.”
Vi nods, her thumb grazing Caitlyn’s cheek.
“You did everything you could to make her happy, and it still wasn’t enough to save her in the end,” she whispers, letting out a sigh as her gaze travels behind Caitlyn, toward the window.
OR
A month has passed since Noxus' invasion. For the last week, Caitlyn has been planning a fundraiser gala to help with the Piltover and Zaun war relief efforts. She has everything under control... until she doesn't. But Vi is there to help, as she always is, and Caitlyn learns that perhaps it's time to finally let some things go.

Summary
Vi knows they’re running out of time before they grow suspicious and seek them out. But she can’t help taking; she hasn’t taken enough in this lifetime, and she wants to use up all of her karma to take endlessly right now. She doesn’t know what’s waiting for them, if this is the only time they’ll get to do this.
She’s greedy for more. Topside has always made her greedy.

Summary
Caleb's self restraint is truly one to be studied. It's just too bad that you have front seat tickets to the way his mind works, and you know just how to drive him crazy.

Summary
After Caleb’s death you become accustomed to scraping by on your own. When he returns to your side alive and whole, you want to spare him from knowing just how much you’ve been struggling—but your brother has his own ways of finding out.

Summary
A fever pitch. Its synonyms: excitement, agitation. Two opposites shoved into the same feeling. That’s the only way to describe the way things are around you and Caleb now. Breaths are counted, often hitched. Touches are limited before they get dangerous. Caleb has invited you to Skyhaven even with the fever pitch, the heat and the excitement and the agitation. Maybe he’s a glutton for punishment. Maybe he knows he deserves it. Maybe he’ll take you any way he can have you.
(You and he used to be synonyms. Two words with the same definition. The question you both try and fail to answer: what are you now?)

Summary
“I wish I could see into your head,” you murmur, freeing one hand from his grasp and tapping a finger against his forehead, right between his eyebrows.
“You don’t,” he says, because god, you don’t. He’s the exact kind of man that he wants to protect you from. But he’s also the only man that can protect you the right way.
(Once he came back, did what he had to do for Ever, everything would work out. His life, a list of wants: you and nothing else.)
