Summary
"The crown suits you, you know," said Ser Duncan over the cacophony, bringing Baelor back to himself. "Makes you look... you know. Kingly. Which I suppose makes sense, seeing as how you're the king now." A look of anguish crossed his face. "Oh, hells, I shouldn't be calling you 'you,' should I? It's 'Your Grace.' Please don't take—"
Baelor resisted the urge to rest his hand against the lad's back, as one might soothe a skittish horse. "No offense was taken, ser."
"Thank you," Ser Duncan said, then immediately amended, "thank Your Grace...ness. Seven fucks, I'm getting another drink." And he whirled away into the throng before Baelor could say a word.

Summary
In his dream, he's back in the pale sedan as Reverend Samuels drives them through the familiar streets of Shiloh as confetti falls from the sky in endless waves.
"Where would you like to go?" The Reverend wonders.
Jack remembers the last time confetti rained from the sky. Remembers the taste of ice cream on his tongue and the easy way he and Michelle had smiled.
Back then, there were still years between them and the moment David would come into their lives like a tidal wave or a forest fire - like something primal and unstoppable, something that wouldn't let you hide from it behind your technology and crowns.Bookmarked by mogigraphia

Summary
“I’m sorry, did you say eleven years old?” Ratthi asked, because humans can’t play back bits of conversations that they didn’t hear and are always asking each other to repeat things, much to the annoyance of any contracted SecUnits being forced to listen in and record everything they say to be sold for advertising data.
“Yes,” Gurathin confirmed, and then everyone was staring at me and looking all shocked and sad and whatever.
“Constructs don’t age the same way humans do,” I reminded them, before anyone could start thinking anything stupid like oh no, Murderbot is just a little kid and little kids shouldn’t be doing security and eleven year olds shouldn’t have guns in their arms. "Eleven is old for a SecUnit. Most of my inorganics are already past warranty.”
Except, because I’m an idiot, that didn’t make it better. It actually made it worse, because now even Dr. Mensah was making a concerned face at me.Bookmarked by mogigraphia

Summary
“It is,” Buck breathes, relieved. “It’s so normal. We just don’t talk about it! But it’s fine, we all do it.”
Eddie nods along enthusiastically, smile plastered on his face. “Exactly. We all do it. And—” Eddie pauses, smile growing even bigger. “And why don’t you just use mine.”
*
Or, Buck’s pent up. Eddie offers him a solution. It unravels from there.
