"Hm- didn't inspect you to be the wizard behind the curtain." He says in an amused tone. He had no room to judge, he's dealt with far worst than the likes of Steve Harrington. He furrows his eyes brows a bit as he watches the other look confused. He doesn't look all the way there if he was honest. Normally Eddie would be a bit of an asshole, to make sure that his customer knew that he took things very seriously. But something wasn't right about this deal. "Um? As in like Wizard of Oz? You know the scene where they pull the curtain to reveal the mysterious Oz?" He clarifies. Watching as realization dawns on the other boy. Taking the moment to shuffle himself in to the tight space of the bench, setting his lunch box on the table. "Oh fuck, sorry man. That's not normally the reference I'm used to hearing from the movie." Steve laughs gently.

Summary
He stepped out for a smoke, the gray sky above contributing to the overall mood and color tone of Hawkins. Eddie took a puff as he watched the cars go by. The snow plows had cleared the streets earlier that day, leaving a lovely pileup of dirty slush over the sidewalks, not helping the already darkened and dull mood Eddie constantly found himself in. Maybe he blended in like a shadow with the dark clothes he was wearing today.
Another puff and he watched a pop of color appear from across the street. An unmistakable beautiful head of hair tucked under a red ski cap with a matching scarf as Steve Harrington turned the corner and walked down the opposite side of the street. Eddie watched with interest at the handsome king of their high school seemed deep in thought and definitely not looking where he was going. Another car sped by and splattered more of the slush onto Steve's side of the street. Eddie stifled a laugh as Steve slipped and fell in the dirty snow. He watched with amusement of the supposedly most popular guy in their school make an ass of himself, but after a few beats he realized Steve hadn't gotten up.

Not long after the events of season 2 Billy Hargrove was arrested for the assault, battery, and attempted murder of Steve Harrinton. Along with the attempted kidnapping and abuse of minors. What did he really expect though? Of course Steve pressed charges, he was almost killed and the party was threatened. If he's not pressing charges for himself he’s doing it for them
