Until he finally got away from his father. He didn't get the time or money he needed to fully transition, so all he had at Stanford was HRT, a binder, and a dream, but he made it work. He passed well, didn't have to correct people into calling him "Mr" or "Sir", he had a girlfriend that loved him for who he was... And then Dean showed up, and he lost it all.
