This fic was fully outlined by my wife and I after we'd watched the Episode 9 trailer, and as it turned out, some parts we have planned out were really close to some of what actually ended up happening in the episode, which is why this technically spoilers, even though it wasn't meant to be, so we waited until the episode released to post this :)
We've since watched the actual episode itself and had a bit of a chuckle at the 'hey, that's what we did!' of it. We'll be sticking to what we outlined, so don't consider this to be following the canon of Episode 9.

"I'm saying this for a reason," Zooble hisses. "I'm going to ask a question that's probably a little too much, and you're probably going to get weird about it. I'm telling you that if it's gonna make you freak out, I can save it."
Jax peers out at them. There's something intense swimming in their eyes, but they look like they're trying to bury it. She swallows. Her mouth feels dry.
"Freaky thing to hear," she mumbles, suspicious, "but go on."
Zooble sighs. "Are you and Pomni, like— a thing, now?"
Jax feels her face go red hot.
"Um."

He steals a quick glance at them before his eyes drop back down to the piano. "Instead, you were just here one second and… gone, the next."
The look on Jax's face is impossible to decipher, even more so than usual. "Guess you didn't know me as well as you thought."
"I never knew you at all. You never let me."
Or: Post-finale, Zooble steps into Jax's mind for closure and a long-overdue conversation.
