    Under the live now section, there were all sorts of men to choose from. Shane began to browse through and tried to find someone that peaked his interest. He was stopped cold by the most beautiful man he had ever laid eyes on.

    RockHardRussian, streaming now, two thousand viewers currently. He was muscular, built, his chest on display in the preview picture, all that he wore was a golden crucifix around his neck. His golden curls were unruly in a sexy way, moles dotted his face and chest.

    The corner of his mouth was quirked up, a tempting smirk that invited the viewer to click on his stream. What really grabbed Shane were his icy blue eyes, they were practically like a siren call. Those eyes drew him in and had him clicking before he could even process that he did it.

    “Shanya, Lyubimyy. Please don’t go.” He hated the way his voice sounded, quiet and pathetic. The voice that got him hit when he spoke it around his father.
    “This is the sixth time you’ve asked in less than an hour Ilya. I’ve made up my mind.” Shane’s voice sound calm unless you knew him, then you could hear the subtle quiver that came with his anger.
    “Please, don’t leave me alone.” It was barely a whisper, but he didn’t want his voice to shake, couldn’t speak louder or risk a crack in his words.

    After a bad fight, Shane leaves their house in Ottawa to stay in his Montreal flat for the rest of the free time they have before a game, and a series of misunderstandings result in the rapid decline of Ilya's mental health.

    Ilya had a seizure. Well, seizures. Multiple. He is in the hospital, in the operation block and suddenly Shane is met with the possibility that last words Ilya Rozanov ever heard from him were "Maybe love isn't enough."

    And then complications occur. And Ilya is not waking up.

    They’d sat on a perfectly ordinary Wednesday afternoon in their perfectly ordinary kitchen, with coffee that had gone cold on the table between them, and calmly dismantled the life they’d built together. One sentence at a time.

    “Maybe we need space.” “Maybe we’re just hurting each other.” “Maybe love isn’t enough.”

    He wants to go back and shove that version of himself against the wall. Shake him until his teeth rattle.

    Love is the only thing that matters when someone is under general anaesthesia and a stranger is touching their brain, Shane thinks wildly. Love is literally the only currency worth anything in a room like this.
