No, wait, not like that - there’s a person she happened to make contact with, back when she was posting more reliably on tumblr while pretending to roleplay as a half-bat, half-human superhero.
Someone was criticizing Bat Child for being “too tropey” and “overdone” and “objectively bad”, and user nightangel94 popped up in the replies to defend the concept of hidden heroes who fight in the darkness to protect the innocent. Vesper sent him a quick thank-you message, they started talking, and it turned out her new friend was part of some kind of LARP that sounded kind of like what she and Darkness Man were doing.
He’s not a vampire, and he doesn’t know she is one, so she lets him think she’s just playing a character. It’s nice, being able to tell someone about her life, and he lives on the other side of the country so it’s not like they’ll ever run into each other in real life.

It’s not Rocky’s fault, but eventually he has to tell him to “just go away,” because Rocky’s behavior is reminding him too much of the way he acted while Colt was recovering from his back injury.

He doesn't know how this happened, how he ended up in Rengoku's arms, sobbing. He just wants to go home, damn it! But he's stuck here. Not that he's really complaining. Rengoku is nice, with a calming aurora surrounding him. He could stay in his arms forever. Now, if only he wasn't crying and had just finished screaming for the whole world to hear his shame.
