Summary
"Dice, spider?" she said with steadily amounting glee. Lace could never stoop to mortal vices, but that didn't mean she was completely ignorant. "How many could have guessed that Pharloom's illustrious saviour had a penchant for gambling?"
"I won them from a pilgrim during my ascent to the Citadel," Hornet said stiffly. It wasn't lost on Lace that she denied nothing about gambling. "They were of surprising utility."
What service they could have possibly provided her, Lace couldn't begin to fathom. Hornet was preternaturally lucky enough as it was. She rolled them in her palm, testing their heft. They were entertaining things to fidget with. She'd pull one an inch or so away from the cluster just to be able to feel it struggling to rejoin its comrades. The magnetic tension conveyed a want that went beyond speech. The inanimate could only ever experience a single form of desire; the type that was born when it lost a part of itself. For them, love and loss were one and the same.
Hornet and Lace embark on a pilgrimage.

Summary
It only takes a family three generations to lose everything. Grandfathers earn their wealth, fathers curate it, and grandsons squander it. Fugo, exceptional in all things, played jazz and classical piano for a two star bar in Milan in-between April and November 2001. As far as adages went, he always found it to be pretty accurate.
He doesn't even know what music Giorno likes.

Subject: Regarding Your Recent ConductDr. O’Brien,
I should not need to remind you that we are professionals working in scientific study and your recent behaviour has been more than enough to have you removed from the project. Even if I have mercifully decided not to report you, I believe we still need to have a serious discussion regarding your inappropriate actions last Wednesday. Considering that I was the one who recommended you for your position in the first place, I feel the need to take responsibility.
See to it that you don’t embarrass me further. I don’t think either of us will enjoy the consequences.

Summary
Her mother always stressed the importance of sticking to a routine religiously. Routine is the key to mental hygiene, and discipline is what wins battles. A disciplined athlete doesn’t look at a match like a game, but a series of choices and contingencies and potential failures. Never put yourself in a losing situation, but always prepare yourself for when the enemy will pull the rug out from under your feet. Go in with a strategy, but be willing to scrap it.
Always come out on top. Never lose

Summary
Hornet completes her task in the Abyss and begins her return to Pharloom—against all odds, alive and not alone.
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance," Lace says, voice like nettles. "Though I must ask, spider: are you brave, or stupid?"
"You may rest if you wish, Hornet Wielding Needle." Shakra's voice is quiet, nearly amused in its affection.

Summary
During her travels, Hornet finds a mysterious shackle meant to bind malfunctioning automatons for future disassembly. Such a discovery would be insignificant — except more and more similar shackles keep appearing around the choral chambers, as if hunting a certain prey.
She's not the only one who has noticed. The Second Sentinel of Pharloom remembers such shackles from ages ago — and if their suspicion is correct, it is not just themselves who is in danger from an old hunter's obsession.
It will take both of their combined strength to combat this unseen foe…
(…and if that draws them closer together, well. That's just a bonus.)
